Ford is recalling more than 2,400 vehicles because the seatbacks may not hold in a crash. Recalled are 2017 Ford F-150, Explorer and Super Duty vehicles with bad welds used in the driver's side seatback frames.
The welds are located between the seatback and the seatback recliner mechanism and will leave a driver's seatback unsecured in a crash, although Ford says no crashes or injuries have been reported.
There are 2,195 recalled vehicles in the U.S., nine in federalized territories, 39 in Mexico and another 175 in Canada.
Ford dealers will replace the driver's side seatback frames, but Ford didn't say when the recall will begin.
CarComplaints.com will update this page when the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration releases details. Until then, owners may contact Ford at 866-436-7332 and refer to recall number 17C08.
