Porsche is recalling 243 model year 2017 Porsche Macan, Macan S, Macan GTS and Macan Turbo SUVs for steering problems, and 32,944 containers of brake fluid are recalled because they have the wrong labels.
The Macon SUVs have anti-rollbar connecting links that can move out of position, causing the SUVs to oversteer. A driver will suddenly be faced with feeling one thing from the steering wheel while the Macon SUV does something else.
Porsche doesn't know when the Macon recall will begin, but the automaker says its dealers will eventually inspect the front anti-rollbar links and replace them if necessary.
Affected Porsche Macon owners with questions should call 800-767-7243 and ask about recall number AG06.
Porsche Brake Fluid Recall
It's not often you see tens of thousands of containers of brake fluid recalled, but Porsche is doing just that with 1-liter and 30-liter containers of brake fluid that aren't labeled correctly.
The 32,944 containers of brake fluid have two part numbers: 1-liter containers have part number 00004330552, and 30-liter containers have part number 00004330553. All were manufactured from September 1, 2015, to August 31, 2016, and all the containers say "DOT" instead of the required "DOT 4."
Porsche is concerned about consumers who may use the wrong brake fluid with vehicle brake systems that are incompatible with the fluid. Using the wrong brake fluid can affect braking performance while driving, so all brake fluid containers will need new labels.
Porsche doesn't know when the brake fluid recall will begin, but concerned customers may call 800-767-7243.
