Honda is recalling more than 11,800 model year 2016 Civic 2-door cars because of problems with the side marker LED lights.
Honda discovered the problem in May when five cars in Canada were found to have faulty rear side marker lights, then 15 more vehicles were found during an investigation of in-house Civics.
Honda’s investigation determined the internal circuit boards for the rear side marker LED lights were getting damaged during transit from a sub-supplier to the tail light supplier.
The Honda Civics were manufactured February 23, 2016, through May 20, 2016.
The recall will begin sometime in August when dealers will replace both tail light assemblies if needed.
Affected Honda Civic owners with questions should call Honda at 888-234-2138 and ask about recall number KB8.
