A BMW 745e xDrive recall has been issued for 173 model year 2020 cars because of software errors in the electronic control units.
BMW says the software can disable the audible warning that signals for a driver to fasten their seat belt.
This violates federal safety standards that mandate a driver be reminded to wear the seat belt.
The BMW 745e xDrive recall will begin October 4, 2019, when dealers will update the electronic control unit software.
BMW drivers with concerns should call the automaker at 800-525-7417.
