Mitsubishi is recalling 2018-2019 Mitsubishi Outlanders equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels because the certification labels are wrong.
Nearly 14,800 Outlanders were sold with the wrong rear wheel rim size specifications printed on the labels. Mitsubishi fixed the problem in production and no vehicles built on or after August 8 are affected.
Mitsubishi is concerned about an owner who may replace the rims with rims of the wrong size.
Mitsubishi will mail customers new labels with instructions how and where to place the labels. However, Outlander owners may also request that dealerships attach the new labels.
The 2018-2019 Mitsubishi Outlander recall should begin September 26, 2018, but owners with questions should call the automaker at 888-648-7820 and ask about recall number SR-18-006.
