About 11,800 model year 2018 Toyota Camry cars are recalled due to a risk of fires from fuel leaks.
Toyota said problems occurred during the assembly process that caused improper connections of the fuel pipes and fuel hoses in the engine compartments.
The bad connections will allow gas to leak, or at the least gas odors that will be noticeable to occupants. Any gas that leaks has the potential to cause a fire if the fuel makes contact with an ignition source.
Toyota will start contacting owners in March with instructions to get the cars to dealers to have the hoses and pipes connected properly.
CarComplaints.com will update this page when the government releases details about the Camry recall, but for now owners may call Toyota at 800-331-4331.
